Grand Illusion - Clue 1

This is my first attempt at a Mystery Quilt - any mystery quilt. I have had my fabric for some time now and was awaiting the first clue. I did need to get the pieces finished for another quilt first before I started this one. So Saturday morning I met up with 4 other Tucson Mystery Quilters to work on our first clue. I spent a great deal of time cutting, but I was mixing in my aquas and pinks as I was cutting - I want and very scrappy look. Since I was working on my "traveling/class" machine instead of the nice, new big Pfaff that I have at home, I struggled with my seams and having my units come out to the right size and decided to focus on the cutting. I did do one sample block.
